Who We Are
Forte Piano has proudly served the music community for over 50 years. Based in Detroit, we specialize in the expert rebuilding, restoration, and refinishing of fine pianos.
Originally founded by George Michalski, a Poland-born, European-trained craftsman and artist, Forte Piano has upheld a legacy of superior craftsmanship, offering high-quality services at competitive prices. Our low operating costs and direct service from owners ensure exceptional value for our customers.
In 2024, Forte Piano was acquired by two Canadian entrepreneurs, each bringing a unique set of expertise. One specializes in musical instrument craftsmanship, while the other is an expert in IT, AI, and business development. This powerful blend of skills has given the company a transformative new direction, combining the highest level of traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
With the integration of AI and advanced IT systems, Forte Piano now delivers precision and efficiency like never before. This modernization complements our longstanding tradition of artistry, ensuring that every piano is restored with meticulous attention to detail, while leveraging technology to enhance the quality and speed of our services.
The new leadership’s experience in business development has also introduced fresh strategies that expand our offerings and allow us to reach more clients across North America.
The combination of world-class craftsmanship and innovative technology sets Forte Piano apart, positioning us as a leader in the piano restoration industry.
We invite you to visit us at our Detroit location on Greenfield Road, where we look forward to assisting you with all your piano restoration needs.
